Work Hardening Programs

Our Westwood Physiotherapy team further provides Work Hardening Programs related to WSIB Injuries. A Work Hardening Program lasts about 1.5 to 3 hours per visit, and it involves about 2-3 visits per week.

The goal of this program is to facilitate the patient’s return to work. It aims to provide a custom treatment plan that helps maximize the employee’s tolerance as they return to their workplace. A Work Hardening Program may include physical reconditioning, functional task practice regarding what the employee would regularly do at work, and education regarding their injury.

Reporting Your Claim

WSIB comes into play when you need more treatment than what is required with immediate first aid. If you require treatment from a health professional, aren’t able to go to work, or are earning less pay due to your injury or illness, you may be eligible to receive WSIB benefits.

You can report a claim online at the WSIB website. Usually, the injury or illness must be reported within six months of its occurrence.
