Now we can assess eligible patients and complete ADP funding applications for approved assistive devices.

ADP assessments are currently available at our Willow Road and Woodlawn Road locations in Guelph, Ontario.

What Is the Assistive Devices Program (ADP)?

The Assistive Devices Program (ADP) is an initiative funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health that helps eligible Ontario residents access financial assistance for essential assistive devices.

The program typically covers a portion of the cost of approved devices when the assessment and application are completed by a registered ADP Authorizer.

What Is an ADP Authorizer?

An ADP Authorizer is a healthcare professional who is officially registered with the Ontario Ministry of Health to:

  • Assess individuals for assistive devices
  • Determine eligibility under ADP guidelines
  • Complete and submit ADP funding applications
  • Recommend appropriate mobility and seating equipment

Westwood Physiotherapy is proud to now offer this service in-house through a registered Physiotherapist.

As an approved ADP Authorizer clinic, we can assess and submit funding applications for the following device categories:

  • Ambulation Aids
  • Seating Systems
  • Manual Wheelchairs
  • Power Wheelchairs

We work closely with patients, caregivers, and approved equipment vendors to ensure devices are appropriate, functional, and compliant with ADP requirements.

During your ADP assessment at Westwood Physiotherapy, our physiotherapist will:

  • Complete a comprehensive physical and functional assessment
  • Evaluate mobility, posture, balance, and daily activity needs
  • Determine ADP eligibility
  • Complete required Ministry of Health documentation
  • Coordinate with approved vendors if required

However, some insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement.
